Losing
Hola and Hello, my beloved readers.
Let's talk about losing, shall we? There are a bunch of literal meanings for it. I hope you know what it means. Have you ever lost? Do you know what it's like to lose at something or someone? We all lose. But we also win, don't we?
We won't only lose in life, but sometimes it feels that way. It feels like we only lose. And then bad things happen. We blame ourselves, and we think everyone, like us, puts the blame on us. We get sad, mad, and angry. We feel like we want to run away from everything. Sometimes, we even reach a point where we wish we would die so that the misery will end. It's painful, and we go through a lot of hurt that still lies deep in our hearts.
Have you ever heard "Live Love Laugh," the famous motto? Personally, I hate the "Live Love Laugh" motto. I prefer it this way:
I want to laugh
I want to cry
I want to love
I want to hate
I just want to live.
Maybe, this is what is hidden in it. Why don't you try to see it that way? Then, losing and winning won't just matter. Will it? Think about it. We know we've been ourselves and we've given what we could. We don't have to think more of it. We lost this time. Maybe, we'll lose again and again. Why should it matter? Maybe it does. So okay, be mad and sad. But, let me remind you that living until we die is inevitable. And living it our way is living it the best way.
The hate and cries are just as important as the laughs and love. Life is good. Life is never bad. If you think life is not so great, try getting out to the street, greet some people, do some kindness, or call your friends, get them to visit, talk to them, and then life won't seem so bad. Maybe, just go to your kitchen and make something. That taste would be enough to show that life is good. It is good. Try doing one of these things, and trust me, life won't feel bad anymore. And remember, do it your way so that it won't seem boring. Maybe, your way of walking involves listening to music. Go on!
See, we never have to win always. Just be yourself and try. Try again and again. Trying is only what we can do best. There are things beyond our control and there are things within our control. Identify what we can and can't control. When it feels like it is so hard, just try vibing to some music from the '90s. (I just personally prefer the songs from the '90s to escape from something. Funny, right?)
Maybe, it's because we didn't give our best that we lost. So, give our best another chance. If we lost at that, don't think about what we lost previously. Just try again and again like we talked.
Now, is winning and losing the only things we remember when we think about the word "losing"? No. We lose at something or someone. Something like people close to us, souvenirs from the past, something we think the world of, and so on. As I said, there are things we can and can't control. This part is hard! We go into something they say depression easily than the winning-losing part. See, life is good even after that. Don't hold yourself back because there's a lot of things we can do here. Losing someone or something which was a big part of your life is hard. You have all the right to get sad and mad. You deserve time. You deserve time to figure out your next steps and slowly walk back. Because if it's a person, I think they would probably want you to keep going. Even if it's because of you (if that's what you think). And if it's a thing, it's a memory. It doesn't have to exist to be real.
Talking about these things with you, I get reminded of someone. She was so special to me. She was a little girl. I was also a little girl, but I was older than her. I was then in K.S.A. We both even met just before my flight. I don't know what happened after I reached here. I don't even have her contact number, and I don't even know where she is. It's a long-lost friendship. It pains me even now. Well, when I get reminded of it, I think of the good things. We said goodbye. To be honest, my life hasn't been the same after that flight. Everything's a memory. We all grow up. We can't stay in the same place in time. It's a fact. She was a part of my life, and that was a great thing. We were friends. Her memories still make me happy. She has a small part in who I am now. Life is like this. It doesn't make sense at times. This is only one example.
Losing can be in a lot of ways. All I want to say is: don't let it hold you back. Life is good.
"When one can see no future, all one can do is the next right thing." (I got this from Disney's Frozen).
Just think about what you are going to do next. There are infinite things to do in life. Go through a way.
▪In the game of life, when the final buzzer sounds, the only stat you carry with you is the way you played - Author Unknown
▪Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the
seed of an equal or greater benefit - Napoleon Hill
▪"Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." - Confucius
▪What we once enjoyed and deeply loved, we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us - Helen Keller
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal - From an Irish Headstone
▪You know Peter, after all this, I think that to grow up, why, it might just be the biggest adventure of all. Just think of all the things that could be right around the corner that you are missing out on. Think of what the world is missing out on with you not being there to do them (Wendy Moira Angela Darling - Peter Pan)
▪In life and love, you learn that there comes a time to let go and move on - Taylor Swift
All these quotes say a lot, and that's why I wanted to share them with
you. I'd like to suggest you watch the movies "Peter Pan" (2023) and "Crater." I also got reminded of the Spider-Man films while writing this. Not only that, but a lot of the Marvel (MCU) heroes go through this.
LIFE IS GOOD. LOSING DOESN'T HAVE TO CHANGE THAT FACT. WE LOSE. WE LOSE AT SOMETHING OR SOMETHING. IT IS OKAY TO LOSE. IT IS OKAY TO LOSE AGAIN AND AGAIN. IT IS OKAY TO LOSE SOMEONE. LIFE IS NOT ONLY ABOUT LAUGHS AND LOVE. SO, IT'S OKAY. IT HAPPENS. IT DOESN'T STAY THE SAME.
I wish you all good days ahead. I love you, my readers. Take care and stay safe. Remember that life is good, and losing doesn't have to change that fact. Everything, even the pain, is good. Keep it because it is a part of you. We have to move on. We can do so many incredible things than we ever know.
