August 15: Indian Independence Day
Hola and Hello
August 15
Hooray! say August 15 is a holiday
Sleep the day, you may
Damn! I curse you have a nightmare
Is history now ever so rare?
How you dare! The will of Fighters oh, matyre!
1498! Gama found Bharat, our land!
The Dutch and the French follows hand in hand
Rose the sun that never sets
The British Empire we met
Established the East India Company
Trade! they promised pennies rain
We were a cluster of kingdoms
They were our fandoms
They put up our parts together in random
Uniting was the mistake made seldom
Behind our backs they looted
Those white devils were gentleman suited
Made us slaves
We were not brave
But we knew God sees
He gave us power to conquer them from seas
'Unite you must' he demanded
We failed as granted
'Tell me' you say
I know too less so I not may
Ask history
He will tell our real story
Centuries! The tortured us all
Wasn't mercy when the sun set in our call
Their success again and again
Pakistan and India in a bargain
You couldn't sit on your couch for 2 years
You even had your cheers
I need not educate on history
Because it is your story
Take a handful of our sand
In your soft hand
Listen the cries
From leaves that wry
To know you must
Raise your flag on August
