In You 

I've blinked countless times 

My eyes do blink a lot 

It did blink when we first met 

I asked myself if it was nothing 

It could surely be nothing 

But things only uncover slowly

Time takes things slow yet fast

And slowly did I discover

That in you- I were there

The next question seemed simple

It was perhaps the easiest 

Were you in me too?

What proceeded couldn't be harder

Did you know it too?

All of me believed you did not

Except- the heart struggled 

Our eyes met again

And in you I saw wonders

Once upon a time in a faraway land

Two eyes met seas apart

A mermaid under waters

And a prince away in a castle

It wasn’t love at first sight 

Yet something that could have been

The mermaid will forever wish

Her heart will forever grieve

For in you, I see the prince

He'll never know

She'll never say

Yet she's all his

Alas! If he asked!

The sun will rise and set

Like her hopes

Dearest prince, thou must know

She prayed to him about thee

Because in you, I feel a hope
