Can I Do Something?

The day the wars begin

It’s everywhere in the world.

Television, Instagram and newspapers report

Ministers, kings and politicians protest.

Then the calendars changed, and the reign began.

The bombs drained into a void still whirl.

Television, Instagram and newspapers sugarcoat

Ministers, kings and politicians apprehend

To movies, elections and reels.

I flipped the advertisement in the face of the newspaper.

Reports of new politicians and drug abusers in colours

Then at the corner in black ink, they mentioned a bombard.

Why do I only get to be vaguely informed?

We all get to have our fancy draper.

In our choice, our walls are of colours.

We get to walk the beautiful boulevards.

They gloat of a world transformed.

Transformed from its kindness?

There are people in Ukraine

And Palestine too

There’s a war in Sudan 

What happened in Pahalgam?

They are going through pain

Mavrone! You’re unaware of that too!

Have we forgotten what we can?

We’re walking into the damn

Can I do something about this?

It's 2025. God knows how many wars have happened in our world to date! We've seen where wars take us. WW1, WW2 happened and we know it wasn't good. I got to wake up today but many didn't.

It's heartbreaking to know that there are many like me who's breathing this moment, not knowing if they could breathe the next moment.

Yes- none of us know if we'd breathe the next moment. People die. But it's really different when people are killed.

It's irritating that no one can't do anything about it. Truth be said- something can be done, huh?

There are innocent people on both sides.

A poem helplessly scribbled on a journal from a peaceful part of the world.
