Thank you for co hosting!
June 4 question - What were some books that impacted you as a child or young adult?
I haven't read much books. I've always only been an enthusiast of the movies. First thing be said, I love reading books. But books have always been expensive and even when books are available, they won't probably be English or they would be Shakesphere, Ruskin Bond or really old confusing classics that I may not be interested in.
Ruskin Bond and Shakesphere are already part of the school syllabus.
No offense to classics. I like reading classics too but I'm really slow when it comes to reading those. Contemporary books on the other hand- I can complete within one day. I'm fifteen and without reading much books, I can't answer this question.
My favorite book however is- Good Wives by Louisa May Alcott. It is the sequel to the Little Woman series and I actually cried reading the book. It didn't seem like fiction. It was real in many ways.
Okay I just tried to be one of my cringe detective characters😌
Anonyously Esther O' Neill, East of the Sun, IWSG, with No Signal. Dead Zone , can't pick up texts , even the local birds can't tweet. ( raptors )
ReplyDeleteFifteen, and you are a writer, know you can reach the world ?
That's great. In 2023, I wrote about a girl of 14 - who'd been abandoned - but she still has the internet.
That's a shame you can't find more books in English.
ReplyDeleteHave you considered getting an e-reader and catching e-books on sale for 99c or grabbing them during free promotions? You'd be surprised how quickly you can fill your device with just those.
ReplyDelete'Good Wives' sounds interesting. Good luck with your writing!
Hi, Rida! I'm just getting around today. Our neighborhood lost power and internet for a good part of the day. Really? On IWSG Day? The fates could have been kinder. Thank goodness they weren't worse. I cried reading "Good Wives" when I was around your age too. I've never read Ruskin Bond, but I've read a lot of Shakespeare (required in courses from early high school through graduate school). Happy reading in June, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that it's not easier for you to get books. I'm going to have to look up Good Wives.

Hi Rida! That's too bad about finding books in English, have you considered downloading the kindle app on any of your devices? You can download it on your computer as well and read off of your computer, that way you can buy any books off Amazon in any language you want!
