Poem: Poetess

Here I am with a few scribbles for you<3

POEM

Poetess

She never believed the poets

Those intoxicated barbarians who questions

Every fact, truth and logic

And would rather trust fate, fevers and magic

Everything they wrote was love

Princes who send letters with a dove

Boys with angelic smiles singing

Men with their women promenading

She couldn't ever understand such gestures

That their poem nurtures

Crushes, heartbreaks and breakdowns

That only seemed to make her frown

Little did she know, No

Nothing did she know

And like in their every verse

One day came her romantic curse

There she was with a fake smile

Frowning at everything around the aisle

But then he appeared everywhere

And her sanity dissappeared to nowhere

She didn't realise her ears yearn

To hear his voice even if it'd burn

He glanced at her like a gentleman

And she glanced away as much as she can

She didn't let him talk

And neither could she bring herself to talk

He never waved goodbye as he left

Neither did he say hi when they met

For the first time she had a secret

That those mysterious poets would interpret

As the longing of the maiden's heart

With which the damsel would never part

Rumours say she's lost her sanity

And become a poet so witty

The hand he'd never take

Write the verses that love make

    1. This wasn't the poem I wrote then. They give us a topic and we write and now I don't even remember anything I wrote except the context. Those verses are now lost:)

      Thank you<3

  4. Just read this... and it hit in that quiet way things do when they feel a little too real there’s something about unsaid feelings… they always seem louder than the ones spoken

The poem didn’t try to scream emotion — it just breathed it… and somehow that makes it hurt more

    Beautiful stuff

    1. *seem louder*--- yes but it has to be spoken louder, right? Breathing is great but sometimes you have to scream--like existing is fine but you have got to live. Easy to write but not at all easy when it's no longer just papers and thoughts but people and words.

      But again---somethings are better quiet.

      Thank you<3

    2. If left unvoiced, those bottled-up feelings don’t stay quiet… they turn into a storm, a chaos you carry alone.
Sometimes you really do have to scream — scream your lungs out if that’s what it takes to put out the wildfire in your heart.

But I wonder… does it ever truly go out, or does the smoke just settle somewhere deeper?

      Always welcome
