Gratitude to the hosts!

September 4 question - Since it's back to school time, let's talk English class. What's a writing rule you learned in school that messed you up as a writer?

My exams begin on 4th September. Yeah that's today(for you). For me, back to school is on June. Have a great Academic year! -To the students, teachers, staff, parents and on and on it goes.

I have a request. I wrote ten short stories(YA romance). I have shared them with my close friends who find it good. If anyone can spare a few minutes to read a 1,000 word story..... comment your e-mail and the number of stories you'd like to read please. It will help a lot.

I'm on 10th grade. If there was an english class that ruined my writing in any possible way, it should be that class about the active voice and passive voice. It's kind of irritating to think about. That's it.

I used to like english classes but now I'm getting bored to be honest. It's simply boring because I can't find a way to put my imagination into it. It's english for God's sake! Classes aren't simply interactive in my school or this regional syllabus they're teaching. What was your favorite subject? Do you miss school? Or how much more do you have to graduate?

My school-life will be done for good by 2027 April. Life is moving:)

Leave a comment. It's exciting to see a new comment waiting for approval.

See you again!

  1. High school is both the best and worst time of your life. How boring your classes are depends a lot on your teachers. I loved English and did quite well in high school, then failed my first test in University. I'm not sure if that helps you in any way. :-P

    1. Yeah😅. There was this biology teacher who was boring as could have been and the 66 students of our class together brought us another teacher. It kinda does help;)

  2. English and Speech classes were my favorite subjects in high school (but that was back in what ... the middle ages!) I do remember that my teachers' encouragements can be credited with my desire to someday write novels.

    1. English is still a subject loved by most. That's great! There are some wonderful teachers out there who sure did inspire a lot of writers.

  4. What CD said. Just endure. And realize it teaches you nothing about living in the real world.
Sorry, but I am not a romance guy or I would read one of your stories.

  5. Active and passive voice is an important lesson. That one will help your writing forever.

Look for ways to be creative with your English assignments. Being able to squeeze bits of yourself and things you're interested in to what you're doing will help things not feel so boring.
