IWSG: May 7 2k25

Hola and Hello there!!!

Señorida here<3

The awesome co-hosts for the May 7 posting of the IWSG are Feather Stone, Janet Alcorn, Rebecca Douglass, Jemima Pett, and Pat Garcia!

Dearest co hosts, thank you!

May 7 question - Some common fears writers share are rejection, failure, success, and lack of talent or ability. What are your greatest fears as a writer? How do you manage them?

I don't know if I'd be able to be a published writer at all. Life is moving in a faster pace. So far, I had an idea about my future. But recently, I really can't see where I'm headed to. That is scary. I'm afriad that.... if I do get to be a medicine student, I might become too busy and writing won't be there anymore. Nothing could stop me from writing. I'll fail that even if I tried. Writing is a part of me. But what if I never get to be published author? What if I don't reach that vision?

Posting a poem tomorrow!

Happy IWSG day!!!

  1. You will be busy with school and then working in that profession, but there will be time for writing. Write when you can, keep getting better, and then when you do have more time, you will be in a great position!

  2. Don't give up your writing dream, Rida! if you are a busy person, and I think you are, life will always be busy for you, even in retirement. 😂 If I could go back and tell my younger self something, I'd say, "Find a way to write what you want every day, even if it's just for 10 minutes." My brother texted me, at almost 74 years old, that he had lived 27000 days. This was a day or two before he went into open heart surgery last Thursday. Approximately 10 minutes/day for about 21500 days adds up to a lot of writing hours. So hang in there! I'm rooting for you! ❤️. btw, my brother just texted me a picture of his smiling face in the hospital: "New, Improved, 24-year warranty." I hope so! 🍀❤️🍀

  3. While you're at school there are far too many things you want to do. Don't panic. With time management you can do them all, mostly, at any rate. You need to focus on your medical career, but you will enjoy writing the med-school blog or whatever they do instead of newsletters these days. You will write papers, you will write learned articles. You may even find time to write about the amazing characters who are talking to you every day and just waiting to be let out. You can relax in their company, while you earn a great living and save people's lives. And by then you'll have stories that people are begging to publish for you. Good luck

  4. I agree with Alex, write when you can. I do understand the unknown can be scary though.

  5. What if is always a pretty big question with no absolute answer. I'm in my seventies and still wondering. The main thing is to stay positive and keep doing something.
