Hola and Hello there!
SeñoRida here!
Writing a creative thing and AI shouldn’t be used at all. That is what I think as well. But what’s happening right now?
There are people who make use of AI to get over their writer’s block. There are people who designs book covers using it. Why am I even bothering to list it all out? There might obviously be people who use AI write the entire book and then claim it to be theirs just because their lazy fingers typed in a sentence!
Here I am…a fifteen year old girl who got to the level she is in right now only after scribbling in old notebook pages at the age of eleven, writing diary entries of her main character to connect with that character, spend hours reading, learning, typing, plotting and doing all of it. I am not in a big level ofc but I know how much I’ve improved these past years. English is my second language and I learned it from movies. It did take some effort to improve myself in it.
And I used AI too. AI taught me a lot. I found comps for my book with it. Instead of searching hours in Google for good writing tools…AI did it for me in seconds. AI taught me the format for a query. You see, AI is a good teacher.
It’s impossible to not use it for things you have no idea about. Before AI, people learned it from other people or hired other people. Now, AI took over that. It’s kind of sad how you’re good at something and it doesn’t matter because there’s AI right now and there are so many people doing it better.

As with all things, AI has its good and its bad. We have to discover them for ourselves through experimentation and discovery, eh? As I tell all my students: Research is life. Discovering truth takes effort and that effort is what leads us to success.
ReplyDeleteRida, you could be me, many, many years ago!! Stick with the craft and joy of writing. You'll know when the time is right to make that jump into the publishing world. I'd written five books before I found the courage. 80 titles in . . . I'm glad I did!!
ReplyDeleteAI and the movies definitely helped you. I'd swear you were naturally fluent in English.
ReplyDeleteSorry, not on Instagram or I would go read.
You just keep learning and writing and don't let anything discourage you.
Hi, Rida! I followed you on Instagram but didn't follow up because I didn't have time. 😂 My perpetual challenge: time! I loved your post and hearing about your journey. And after I'm finished making my IWSG rounds, I will make time to read your mini book. I'm bookmarking it as soon as I finish my comment. I do like AI for searching for information. I used to have to go to the library when I was your age and get a ride to it because it was too far to walk. I feel like I have the world at my fingertips now. I believe your goals will come true! Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteYou are at an interesting place because you are growing up in a world where AI will be ever-present. Most of us are still stuck in older ways, and distrust new things, and learning new skills and technologies can be hard for some people. Take advantage to learn and grow as the technology grows with you. But please keep focusing on reading, and writing! Learn to do it properly before relying too much on outside tools. AI is a useful tool, it shouldn't be a crutch.
ReplyDeleteSigh. I feel really old right now.
