January 7 question - Is there anything in your writing plans for 2026 that you are going to do that you couldn't get done in 2025?
I'd actually thought that I'd have a good Instagram account with litterateur vibes and all. But things don't work well with me at all. I did try and start one but I couldn't get nowhere because I didn't have a phone and I had to go for my mom's. That wasn't a good option because my brother was also using it at that time.
It had taken a lot of effort to convince my parents to let me start Instagram and after that when I'd posted a video---with my face, voice and words---my mom just asked me not to. My parents are really good but they too like many others give in to the societal bullshit here(Kerala in India if you're wondering where)
I do have a lazy-tablet and a Chromebook but won't get a phone till I'm out of highschool---449 days more for it.
It's funny how parents just expect you to be things but won't let you reach your own expectations.
All I look forward is to write stories---even though they won't see daylight anytime soon.
I am excited for 2026---Football, movies, bitter-sixteen, and the last year at my hellhole of a school.

Maybe it's a good idea you enjoy the real world a bit more while you're young. By the time you are an adult, social media will have changed yet again anyway.
ReplyDeleteI understand your frustration. It's always hard to have external limitations that you can't control. I hope the rest of your school experience goes well and that you keep writing.
