Fantasical Tale of Adventure
Fantasical tales of adventure
The people of Mona, the so called Monanians believed that there were the only forms of intelligent life in this vast Universe. The Monanians had 4 limbs and a skeletal system similar to that of the man of Earth. Yet, their heart contained 5 chambers and they had only a single kidney. Their body contained 303 bones. They breathed helium, the most abundant gas in the planet of Mona. More than fifteen million people inhabited the ten kingdoms of Mona. Their skin was of purple complexion like their planet which appeared purple. Mona was a planet full of ocean. Over time the oceans disappeared and oceanic life evolved into intelligent amphibians. Their sea beds were purple and this they believed was because the pigment in the Monanians becomes stronger and contagious when they are dead and buried. The Monanians were categorized into tribes based the colour of their eyes and hair. Their eyes were perfectly round and their hair was no shorter than 4 feet. Eventually, new thoughts emerged and all were living in harmony without boundaries. The kingdoms were all in alliance.
Life of the Monanians was primarily dependent on the stars, moons and the skies. They had ten moons and hence, ten kingdoms. They believed that stars were the alphabets and the moons were the numbers of the universe. Every season as the harvest, sowing, mowing were dependant on the movements of the celestial bodies around the planet. The Monanians married and had children on specific times of the year only. They cut their nails and hair only when they see an Orion. Rubies used to rain during hail storms. Their clothes were made by melting the rubies and shaping it with the exquisite glowing leaves of their trees.
The woods of Mona were quite magical as it seemed. Trees glow in the woods. The existent waters glow purple. The breeze that passes the Monanians sparkled like purple firecrackers though not harmful. There were a number of small organisms that the Monanians farmed, petted and kept away from.
The Monanians appreciated art and science equally. Sculpturing, fashion designing, dancing, singing, construction of buildings and such handicrafts were chiefly performed. Every branch of their science progressed equally. Physics, chemistry, biology, alchemy, mathematics were all considered important. Yet, Astronomy remained the most aspired field among scientists and students.
Mona is a girl who is about to complete her primary education and is expected to give out her final entrance examinations into Astronomy. Mona was the first Monanians to have been born with her hair and eyes having different colours. Her hair was blue and her eyes were green. She was named Mona by her parents who were astronomers. Though their family was disgraced by the common folk for having named their daughter after their planet, Mona stole their heart by exhibiting her astronomical abilities from a very young age. She predicted a Solar Eclipse to happen in three years with the alignment of five moons and the sun at the age of five. The Monanians scientists could only find this after a year of her prediction. The Solar Eclipse did happen exactly as Mona predicted.
Mona was the only daughter of Hiki and Filala. Her parents were the only family she had. The rest of her family who were farmers, died during the harvest season. They were to wait two more days but as Hiki were dying and rubies were necessary for his treatment, they broke the social etiquettes. Mona was able to earn back her family’s dignity that was lost during the first three years of her life.
Mona had found a loyal group of friends who were also junior scientists like herself. They were all aspiring to be experts on related fields. Mona wished to be the Captain-Astro-Analyst. She was a leader and she took pleasure in pouring herself to the different Astronomical possibilities in various planets.
Mona’s team were to present a research as part of their final examination. They were instructed to choose a planet beyond their Galaxical- boundaries. The Monanians were aiming to extend their knowledge and resources by stepping out of their boundaries.
After a search of more than 3 days, Mona’s team discovered a glowing blue planet that was three boundaries away. It looked like such a beauty. Mona’s team locked their target. The group of scientists called this planet
‘Bloo’
A month passes in the preparatory phase. The team leaves their lab the night before in complete confidence. Before bed, Mona took out her computing instrument and awed Bloo. She turned the buttons and in one moment, her world turned upside down. Planet Bloo was to face a solar eclipse. Her heart hopped inside her Cardio-cage. It was dangerous to excavate into a planet during that planet’s days of Eclipse. It could mean the harm of that planet or the revelation of an unnatural phenomenon in its inner dimension, leading to change in the planet’s equilibrium.
Mona felt desperate. On revealing the matters to her team, everyone voted against Mona to be their Captain if such were the progressions and risks were not considered to be taken. Mona imagined of her family being labelled as cowards. She made up her mind to keep this a secret within the team and set out for the excavations with the conviction that intelligent life can’t exist anywhere out the Planet Mona. She prayed to the moons for Bloo to be a plain planet that doesn’t even compare to the moon’s extravaganza.
The mission was in practice. As they neared Bloo, they realised that there is green with the blue colour of the planet. Their pod lands on a green meadow. People with weapons surrounded their pod. Those people said
‘Who are you? Where are you from? Surrender’
Using the Monanians technology, the language was analysed and they sent out their message without getting out of their pod.
‘We are Monanians from the planet of Mona. We come from three galaxies across. We mean no harm. We are friends’
They got out of the pod. Seeing the six inhumane purple figures, a soldier fainted. Mona had managed to send message about the mistakes and threats to Mona. But she knew that it would take more than a decade to reach her planet.
The Monanians were acquainted in a military lab facility. They found out that this planet was called ‘The Earth’ and they were on a location called ‘Switzerland’. Mona feared about the appearance of an unworldly presence any moment. She observed the news channels that were on. As she ran her eyes through each screen, suddenly a visual about flying horses with two horns were played. She rose out of her chair and asked the lady scientist of Earth
‘Are these beautiful creatures common in your planet?’
‘We thought you brought them here’
The Monanians looked at one another. The visuals were disappearing. The scientists were running around and there were military officials shouting. The Monanians walked out of their room and a scientist came to them
‘You should not move’
They were locked inside that room. The Monanians made out from the situation a few pieces of information that was a way to the larger picture. There was a disturbance outside the facility. The planet was shaking. Tidal waves and winds were intensifying. The damage and destruction was nothing like the planet had ever seen before. Mona groaned with hatred, regret and anger overflowing from her. One of the team members put the blame on her in the very moment despite the circumstances. A spark of rage rose up Mona’s spine and she motioned to punch while the others stopped her.
The Monanians realised shortly, that the commotion was disappearing. They could have always got out of the locked room. They had chosen to give time. They made their way out of the facility only to have shed tears. The planet was ruined. There were donkeys flapping wings, flying horses with two horns, cows with fish-tails, plants and figures with diverse morphology that didn’t belong to Earth. Brown smoke rose from beneath the ground. The water had turned pink. On analysis, it was discovered that a dimension had slid past planet Earth resulting in a disaster. Two dimensions are tamed and the Monanians worried for the remaining 7 dimensions around Earth.
Mona didn’t lose heart. She believed that there must be some way. She poured herself into further analysis and studies on the situation. The Monanians worked with the people of Earth to find a remedial measure.
Mona had found something she had never even imagined to be possible. There was a door found to the next dimension in the Exosphere of Earth. The risk for the mission was riskier than their mission to arrive Earth. There were possibilities for the dark forces of that dimension to rise out and corrupt everything which was constituted of matter.
Mona knew that she had to execute the mission and she knew that it had to be done only on her seldom conscience. She set off to this different dimension. When he got out of her pod, there were soldiers with spears surrounding her. Amidst the soldiers, she spotted three men on horses that seemed like the leaders. The one in the middle sure had to be the king. She impressively made her way to the king and bowed before him. The king had said something. The language analyser, translator and observer processed and Mona knew what he had asked. He was asking for her name.
‘I am Mona from the planet of Mona which lays three galaxies beyond. Our excavation to Earth had caused this havoc. The planet of Mona and Earth do not mean harm to your dimension. The solution to this commotion is here in this dimension. You are a noble king. I seek guidance from you’
‘So you did all that. It was us who made our dimension slide past Earth because of the rare radiation we felt on our core. But we are helpless to provide you with a cure to this wound.’
‘I’ll do anything. There must be a way’
‘There is one. It could cost you your own life. One must be brave at heart, intelligent at mind for this’
‘I will do it’
‘The curer of all wounds was my daughter Elizabeth. But she has been locked away in a cave which situates in a land beyond the seven seas. You are to defeat the one who possesses dark force in his veins to reclaim her. Nine warriors have lost. 7 of them come from different worlds. Elizabeth can fix this because we used her curse to cause this’
‘Is there anything I should know before I start my journey?’
‘You can start your journey tomorrow during the moon rise.’
Mona was welcomed in the palace. She was given the warrior’s gold armour and a sword which was made out of platinum. She was given map and was asked to find the missing parts of the map from the celestial bodies in the sky. She was given the flying horse that had two horns. Just as she were about to leave, the whole council in the palace asked
‘Doth thy sure about the journey?’
‘Yea’
Mona soared through the air above the waters. The water’s changed its colours momentarily. Pink, blue, purple, maroon, olive, mustard, orange and all sorts of colours interchanged in the waters. There weren’t any signs of life in the waters. Mona looked out to the sky with her map. After crossing three seas, she spotted a lonely star which was a missing piece of the map. She followed it to north-west. She succeeded in crossing the fourth sea. The fifth sea was black. It never changed colours. She found a scarlet star and followed it north-east to the sixth sea. The sixth sea had no water at all. It had a black sea bed.
When she reached the seventh sea, the horse retreated. Black creepers pulled her into the water. She cut them with her sword of platinum. There were pairs of butterfly wings flying high above in the air without bodies. She saw floating skeletons. A san amphibian, she dived into the water and advanced a few meters using her sword. She had to look for the pink star in the sky and so she rose up to the waters. The creepers pulled a back down and this time she felt things crawling on her body. Big and fat worms circled her hind limbs. She cut the creepers again and snakingly swam to the surface of the water. Before the creepers could pull her down again, she had found the pink star.
But it was impossible for her to follow the star swimming through the water surface. She closed her eyes and saw the star through her spirit. She dived down and cutting all that before her, she was heading west. She swam up at an instance her path was blocked and there was no way to the west. Creepers in the shore pulled her to the shore.
She heard desperate cries, psychic laughs, thunder, fluttering of wings, waterfall and the cry of the universe. She panted heaving as she cut the thin red trees standing upright on her path. She fell down to the darkness below when she had reached a grove full of purple woods. She heard the laughs. She was falling and she could hear the laughs. She wasn’t touching the ground. She was only falling. It was only utter darkness around her. She couldn’t even feel the air. The laughs were maniac.
She cut with her sword. She moved it in the speed of light and realised that there wasn’t air in where she was. This meant that there was no oxygen. The oxygen in her body can only last up to an hour. She said
‘Coward! Face me if you dare!’
The laughs stopped. Her body touched the ground with great noise because of the armour. She got to her feet. Something ran past her pushing her. She got up and it repeated. A bulb that only she could see lighted over her head. Words of a mischievous and nasty creature came to her mind. She said
‘You are wounded. You are hurt. You are hurt in a way even the curer of the wounds can’t heal you. You are wounded and you will never be healed. You will only suffer. You are a coward. I’m not afraid of you. You are weak and poor. I pity you’
She heard miserable cries when she had concluded. She smiled mischievously and yelled
‘Coward creature! I command you to hell! Go and never return! Or I shall lock you in a cage of misery for the rest of your life. It’s you who are trapped in this and not me’
The ground beneath her was shaking. She fell. She covered her eyes and the universe hears the ugliest crying screams. A moment later she felt at serene. Everything had stopped. She opened her eyes and saw the blue sky. There were green trees all around her. But a few meters ahead were golden trees. She ran there to find a celestial beauty in her golden robes lying unconscious. She went to hold her hand. Elizabeth smiled and opened her eyes. They got to their feet and stood holding hands looking at each other’s eyes. They were warrior women who knew the universe and its celestial wonders. Mona saw the scarlet, pink and the lonely star in Elizabeth’s eyes. Mona heard flutters of small wings and she spun around only to see beautiful flowers and magnificent creatures. There were butterflies, flying wings, flying horses that had two horns, cows with fish-tail, birds that could only walk and she saw mermaids and mermen.
She looked at Elizabeth who widened her smile and snapped her fingers. They were back at Mona’s pod. Mona delivered her gratitude and returned to Earth. The people of Earth honoured her and congratulated her. The Monanians returned to their planet and they were placed as the 5th team of Planet Mona for the years to come.
Centuries passed and time was reborn several times. This tale that is as old as the first of times was forgotten. Nobody really knew the reason why ostrich didn’t fly until they read this tale. Remnants of the event still lurk around us. One must be brave at heart and intelligent at mind to know the universal truths. That is when one sees the lonely star and the pink and scarlet stars. When those stars appear and you follow their direction, you will reach a time before this.
Every event that happens in relation with the celestial bodies around us, reminds us of the legendary tales. It marks a new time. A solar eclipse marked Mona’s adventure. When it repeats, why it might be a beginning for another fantastical tale of adventure!
