IWSG: March 3 2026
Hey there!
Click here to get to IWSG
The awesome co-hosts for
March 4 posting of the IWSG are PJ Colando, Ronel Janse van Vuuren, and Natalie Aguirre!
March 4 question -
- What elements do you include in your book launch? Or what do you have in mind for your future book launch? Or what advice do you have to offer to others planning to launch a book?
Thank you to the co hosts!!!
I can't believe that I'm about to type it in the IWSG post:
I am published.
Damn. I am a self published author:)
Paperback distribution is within India only but the Kindle version will be available any day now.
As of now I have no idea how many people have bought my book. I think it's 2 but I won't know anything till 25th March. I have no idea how to make people buy my book.
And yeah--- I haven't bought my own book. I shared it on the family/friend groups and my parents---surprisingly didn't mind me posting on Instagram. Idk if it's because I'm sixteen or if it's because I did something they thought I'd never. I wanted to place the order right then but I couldn't. I'm saving up a little so that I can buy 30 books in bulk for a cheaper rate.
I was thinking of hosting something little in a cafe. Obviously I can't afford something like that but my friends were already planning on doing something in the summer vacation and they all agreed to put money into it with me. Just twenty people in a cafe, buying the book, having fun, taking a bunch of photos and reels for Instagram.
Maybe all of this would only be something like me ending up on a couch telling my grand kids about how I used to have an obsession with writing when I was a teen. But I think it'll all be worth something. I've got to connect with some different people, learn new things, be really obviously dumb and it's good.
Writing has become so much of my life. It's gotten somewhere like--it defines me. Atleast some people wave at me and say 'SeñoRida!' (My annoying cousins ofc)
This Ends This Summer was just an experiment of mine. I really didn't think I'd get it anywhere when I took an old diary with a few leftover pages and started writing a diary entry to Taylor Swift from an American girl's perspective. I have no idea why it worked.
Next time when I publish a book, it'll either be KDP self publishing or a damn determination to get an agent.
Tell me. I have no idea. What all am I supposed to do again?
Fifteen year old Sasha Samuelson has been battling PTSD for the past eight years. After the traumatic incident that brought a dark shadow over her family, she's been on a drastic loop.
Sasha had always been a ghost.
And she didn't know any better.
She chose to know no better.
But summers change everything. The old playmate, her little crush--Raven Ice--walked into her life this summer, and told her that he wasn't just in her dream.
But like a dream, This Ends This Summer.
This Ends This Summer is a young adult coming of age high school romance that will take you on a road trip through another crepuscular summer.

Her debut novel, This Ends This Summer is a coming of age, swoon worthy, heart melting romance that you must not miss because the love she writes, is a holy trinity of respect, trust and hope and life is lived if we live for love! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteIt's not on US Amazon yet, or Goodreads, or BookBub. I did find you on Instagram though.
I also checked on Google:
"SeñoRida appears to be a username, specifically that of a young adult romance author on Instagram, known for the book This Ends This Summer. It is a stylized version of the Spanish term señorita (miss/young lady). It is not a standard Spanish word, but rather a unique username or pseudonym used in a social media/literary context. "
So Google knows who you are!
It didn't let me buy your book, but hey, I looked for it! Hopefully, there will be a US version on Kindle sometime so I can show support.

DeleteYeah, I know. I do look forward to put it up on Goodreads and there are a lot of things to do that I plan to take care of after my exams. It won't sadly come on BookBub and that happens to be beyond my control:(
Google knowing me was a huge childhood dream and it came true!!
The book will definitely appear on Kindle--- within a couple weeks, I think.
Tysm again. It means a lot to me!!!
I look forward to it. Bummer you can't get a BookBub author profile. I didn't know they had such restrictions, but I've only been using them for less than a decade.
DeleteWhen you finally get to sell your book in the US market, the price should end in ".99" (certain book sites require that for some reason, and some books get blocked because people from other countries don't know this).
J, I didn't know that about .99 prices. I have some that end in .49. I guess I should change that, or at least check and see if I'm blocked anywhere.
DeleteHi Rida… congratulations on publishing your debut novel *This Ends This Summer*. That’s a huge milestone… especially at such a young age. Wishing you all the best with the book and your writing journey ahead… keep going :)
ReplyDeleteHi Hassan!
DeleteLong time no see. I take it that you logged out of Instagram when your board exams began. Now it's postponed, right? War and all:(
Let's hope that it ends soon.
And really, thank you man. Though you couldn't read the entire draft then, I hope you would get to read this much improved version when it comes on kindle! Or if you're coming to India, you could actually buy the paperback.
All the best for your exams---which I hope will happen soon!
I do hope this conflict gets over soon. Exams getting postponed is the last thing I wanted
DeleteThough no matter the circumstances I am really looking up to read the book. And this time hopefully complete it too.
Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteHey, the cafe should do it for free since you will be bringing in paying customers.
Would you like to do a short guest post on my site in April about the book?
Thank you!
DeleteHopefully yes.
I would love that. That is so kind of you to offer. It'll really be great help. I guesse I'll reach out to you via email.

Congrats! I'm wishing you many book sales and epic success.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your debut! Sharing reels and photos from the bookish event at a cafe/coffee shop will definitely be good marketing. You can also add music to it on Instagram from your favourite artists :-)
ReplyDeletePublishing suggestion: if you're not currently in KU, add your book to Draft 2 Digital to get wide distribution. You can do eBooks and print books through D2D, publishing your book world-wide and in libraries.
Good luck!

Congratulations! That's a huge accomplishment! I do wonder like Alex said if you could do it for free at a cafe, but then my local cafe does charge if you want a special room and not the main area. I love the story behind why you wrote your book!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on publishing your novel! I'm not usually a YA reader, but I'd be happy to do a shout-out on my blog when it's available in the US.
ReplyDeleteSelf-publishing is not an easy road. You obviously have guts. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I am so proud of you, Rida! I will get your book asap. And I will feature it on my blog. Wishing you all the best. 🙌🏼 🍀❤️
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday and congratulations on your debut!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Enjoy this time. No matter where your writing takes you in the future, this will always be your first time being published!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on being a published author. Having an event to celebrate your book release at a cafe sounds fun. And it could be free if you and/or your guests buy treats to eat and drink.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your book! I think an event in a cafe would be a fun way to launch it.
